Eternal Tree House (attraction & café)

The “Eternal Tree House” is a 20-foot room carved from the stump of a 2,500-year-old redwood.  It sits a bit below ground level, so going into the house feels a bit like entering a Hobbit hole!

In the picture, notice that the stump is surrounded by a ring of redwoods. This formation is sometimes called a “fairy ring.”  It occurs when a redwood drops seeds, generating a circle of young sprouts.  Eventually the center tree dies, leaving a circle of healthy trees behind.

You’ll also find a small cafe and gift shop at the Eternal Tree House.

Admission is free.
