Ferndale: the Victorian Village

Ferndale was founded in the 1850s and quickly became a prosperous center for the dairy trade, providing milk, butter, and cheese to San Francisco.

Today Ferndale is filled with small-town charm, amazing Victorian architecture, shops, museums, and galleries. The city has about 1.500 residents, and it contains dozens of well-preserved Victorian-era storefronts and homes.

Visit Historic Ferndale.

Ferndale is 22 miles North of the Avenue of the Giants, Off Highway 101. The city is reached by crossing Fernbridge, a historic 2-lane bridge across the Eel River, complete in 1911.
